MYMEI began with a fascination for technology — and a deep love for music.
Founded in Shenzhen in 2014, MYMEI initially focused on audio-visual playback and media management technologies. Over time, our attention turned increasingly toward digital audio: how music is stored, processed, transmitted and ultimately transformed back into sound.
What began as a technical pursuit became a much deeper journey into listening.
Today, MYMEI develops digital audio products that bring hardware engineering, software and music management together — with one simple goal: to make technology serve the music, rather than stand between the listener and it.
Before MYMEI, Jian Liu was an engineer in the telecommunications industry, where precision, signal integrity and system reliability were part of everyday work.
His move into the world of audio was driven by a long-standing passion for music and sound — and by a belief that the same discipline used to solve complex engineering problems could be applied to the pursuit of better digital audio.
In 2014, he founded MYMEI in Shenzhen.
Since then, he has remained closely involved in product development, listening sessions and the evolution of MYMEI’s digital audio platform.
Rather than separating engineering from listening, Jian believes the two should constantly challenge each other: measure carefully, listen critically, and never stop refining.
MYMEI has always believed that great audio should be discussed, demonstrated and experienced — not simply described on a specification sheet.
